Early Summer Styling: Staff Picks

Following the Spring Styling—Staff Edition published recently, this series focuses on the real-life outfits of muller of yoshiokubo staff members working in the office.
This time, we are introducing "Early Summer × Workplace Styling."

Staff Iwamoto's Styling

What Iwamoto was wearing that day was the METAL BEANS PANTS.
Her styling, which pulled everything together in a basic way, was packed with tips on how to wear them.

"For this day, I paired lace lingerie with a cut-and-sew top to keep it casual. Since the beads on the pants give off a moderately elegant impression, they really make the lace item stand out.
I often choose gray for cut-and-sew tops because they frame the face. The reason is that black is too rugged, and white is too clean. I often incorporate vintage clothing into my outfits, so the combination with gray just feels right."

At 152cm tall, she is petite and finds even size 36 bottoms a bit large.
Hemming them herself is something only a production management staff member would do, isn't it?

However, "Sometimes the waist is still too big..." says Iwamoto.
When asked what she does, she showed us a method she actually tries.

"There is an easy way to adjust the waist with only things you have at home. All you need is one safety pin. Just attach the safety pin vertically to the outside of the hook that is originally sewn in (at a position that fits your size).
Be careful not to place it too far to the outside, as it will ruin the silhouette of the front. Of course, sending it to a tailor will result in the most polished look, but if you're thinking, 'I can't wait! I absolutely want to wear this today!', please give this a try." (The safety pin attached vertically is visible between the original hook component and the belt loop. Using two safety pins increases the strength further.
※When trying this, please fasten the safety pin securely so it does not come undone, and be very careful not to let it poke your skin.※)

Staff Hatinami's Styling

Hatinami styled the RIB SUSPEND HALF SLEEVE and METAL BEANS SKIRT in an all-black, chic ensemble. Like Iwamoto, she works in the production management department.

Regarding her styling for the day, she shared, "Since the silver beads scattered on the front and back create a glamorous atmosphere, I chose a simple top to create a balance."

"Hand-sewn bead fabric is naturally time-consuming, so the production cost goes up just because of that. It's rare and not something you see often in Japan, so from the moment the fabric came up, I thought, 'I absolutely need to get the skirt from this series!' and chose it.
Furthermore, when cutting the fabric to make the clothes, if there are beads in the places to be sewn by machine, there is a process where the beads in those parts must be removed before sewing. It’s a bit of a niche detail, but knowing that background makes me feel even more attached to it," she said, sharing a way of choosing clothes unique to someone in production management.

Like Iwamoto, she chose comfortable sneakers for her feet, as she spends her day busy with both desk work and standing work.

"This skirt can be dressed down with sneakers, or paired with sandals for an elegant vibe, so it looks like it will get a lot of wear this summer. I look forward to styling it in many different ways."

(Since it is based on denim fabric, enjoying the way it ages is another part of the fun.)

That concludes the real-life styling from these two staff members.
Something they both had in common was incorporating the METAL BEANS series.
The bead detailing that adds a subtly elegant shimmer is one reason why there are many fans among the staff.

The muller of yoshiokubo online shop offers items other than pants and skirts, so please take a look.
