■muller of yoshiokubo 2022 Spring/ Summer
The theme for this season's "muller of yoshiokubo" is Materiaddict. This is a coined term combining "material" and "addict." While we have always been particular about our textiles, we were especially selective with our materials this time. We have used a variety of fabrics in pursuit of unprecedented surface textures.
Materials are something that are difficult to imitate. In fact, 90% of the materials used at muller of yoshiokubo, including imports, are original. You wouldn't be able to find them in other brands even if you looked. We basically never use materials that are easily available anywhere.
In that sense, I believe we are providing high value by "having done the hard work" even before we shape a single piece of fabric into a garment.
■Materiaddict
For over a decade since starting the brand, I have kept the materials I liked. I have such affection for these textiles that I've even given them my own names, such as "SAND." Thinking about it, perhaps I, as the designer, am in a state of being "addict"ed to the material that is textile.
A series named A-MAZE
Since January 28th, items featured on the collection page have become available for purchase online in sequence. Please take a look.
